Rumky Farhana is a human rights advocate and development professional with over 17 years of experience across Bangladesh, Senegal, and South Asia. Her expertise spans digital rights, freedom of expression, media freedom, journalists' safety, civic space, freedom of religion or belief, gender and labour rights, and sustainability. She has contributed to regional and global policy dialogues, including at the UN Internet Governance Forum and UNESCO. A dual Bangladeshi–Senegalese national, she holds an MBA from Victoria University, Australia, and degrees in Public Administration from the University of Dhaka. She is an Internet Society Global Mid-Career Fellow and APrIGF Fellow.
